- The version sung by Kourtney in the series is not the one present on the first season soundtrack. Instead, a "Nini & Kourtney Version" is available, where the original movie song is heard and the girls sing over it. It is thought to be from a deleted scene from episode five, "Homecoming", as when the girls exit the karaoke bar they briefly sing the song while entering the car.
- The song was featured in the episode "Lip Synching in the Rain" of the Disney Channel program "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody". In this episode, the cast puts together a stage version of High School Musical, and perform several songs from the movie.
- A recurring gag from the episode is that Maddie Fitzpatrick, who is played by Ashley Tisdale, is constantly told she does not look like Ashley Tisdale and therefore cannot portray Sharpay Evans.
- Ashley Tisdale sang this song with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy in the first edition of "Studio DC: Almost Live", a half-hour variety show featuring The Muppets and Disney Channel stars performing together.
