Donnie Dion is one of the new characters in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. He is Jimmie "The Rocket" Zara's best friend, as they are seen energetically jumping through the halls of East High together. He is the ball boy for the Wildcats. It is implied that he is a freshman. His freespirit and happy go-lucky attitude are sometimes annoying to other people. Most would say he will be the new 'Chad' for the Wildcats as his friend Jimmie will be the new 'Troy'. Both had showed that they respected the older players and in turn they were given their lockers.

He seems to be a follower of Jimmie in all of his wacky exploits, and shares his wild juvenile but optimistic attitude.
At one point he was with Jimmie during the big prank, where both of their clothes were stolen by Troy and Chad under the promise of being given new lockers. They chase Troy and Chad wearing nothing but towels across the school disrupting classes, a girls volleyball game, (potentially being very humiliated) and finally backstage where the props are being worked on for the musical. They are soon given detention and forced to join the stagehands and actors working backstage.
